Farmers report molasses mills busy and a short but improved wheat crop. T L Smith of near Dalny visited his father John M Smith. Thomas Orites raised a fine watermelon crop. Pea harvest to start soon while plowing for wheat continues. Sunday school progress noted and a boy in straw hat enjoyed.
Jamon Easter, son of Francis Easter, died last Friday after a lingering illness at age seventeen or eighteen. The community offers sympathy as Sam McMind stayed with his mother. Acheraf lost a dairy cow after eating cane blades. Dinamite killed all fish in Castor river. arrests made with more to follow. Jobo Wiggins to start a sorghum factory on Monday. School to open next Monday with James Kinder as principal and Susie Ravello as primary teacher. Rumors of a wedding and local political talk noted. Wheat sowing possible after recent rains. The school will have a new three story Science Hall with 25 rooms laboratories recitation rooms and offices. Library contains 1500 volumes plus about 1000 government publications.
