Last week Cape Girardean fair drew a cheerful crowd with Democratic candidates filling appointments and delivering speeches in Zalma and nearby strips. A bountiful banquet followed, hosted by local women’s groups and attended by candidates and residents amid community festivities.

Corn crop weaker than last year in Bollinger county. some yields poor. Cotton picking daily about 170 pounds. Texas youths marry young after 16 to 20 when they can harvest cotton.
