Fair at Oran last Thursday provided an enjoyable time while Dr J E Smith reported lying to Bussville last Friday. A P Jonon waast conference last week with Pocahontas crown next year. J C Moore spent Sunday with homefolks, James Belchamber at home a few days, A D Rhodes and wife with Mr and Mrs Robert Rhodes. The first month of school closed last Friday. J A Berry made a business trip to Buchanan Sunday. Prof W A Davault preached at Marble Hill Baptist Church Sunday and a church meeting began seeking good work. Success to the Paras Manguinatan.
The senior class includes Della Warren Nattis Murdoch Jesse Phelps and Oscar Phelps with Frank and Ella Fulkerson of Marble Hill adding to the roster. The academy focuses on mechanics velocity and motion as a reinforced course taught by experienced teachers while a cold spell and return of Johnny King are mentioned in passing.
Trade is lively at our stores and health is generally good with few exceptions. Prof W A Leoffler of Marble Hill was on our street last Friday, Charles King hauled cattle to St Louis, hogs are scarce, river rose after rain, Arthur moved into Sollingers farm, game is reported scarce, time is not worth wasting on punting or ale.

Reports detail residents including John Haff returning from Greenville and favoring Boltinger, Henry Jamison leaving Ting for town, and L. Barret moving into the old schoolhouse. Rev Wm Bishok and family returned from an extended visit to relatives in Cape county. Farmers busy cutting corn and sowing wheat. Elisha Jones and Geo Ritsel Sr. made a business trip to Zalma. Thomas Huskey, timber agent Fox Pioneer Cooperage, was home several times due to his wife’s neuralgia. Mrs Hadkey improving but not yet able to beat illness. R school progressing well under Prof J Robins. George and Addie Ritsel of Salder's Mill visiting home folks. Theodore Adams moved to Wayne county. Prof E B Robertson teaching Hickory Grove school. Miss Lula Huskey of Cape Girardeau visiting brother Thomas Huskey and family, then returned home. Rev Dana Robins preached at Locust Grove Saturday night. Louis Rainer recovering from typhoid fever. Otto Ritsel on the pusy list but improving. Miss Roba Bollinger went to Dongola for employment. Jono Cash moved into Theodore Adams' former house. Miss Carrie Reuzel staying at Burks hotel in Latesville. John Call, after much work on the farm, returned to Latesville.
