A new saw mill and hub factory by W A Phelps Co plans attract local farmers with barter for eggs and chickens.
From Alliance several items report a Sunday eclipse on November 15. E A Grindstaff built a new house and became father of a baby. G W Johnson digs a large cistern at his barn, with J H Stevens doing the work. Mrs R E Grindstaff of Patton died on the 19th, leaving four sons and many mourners. In and Around Laflin reports wild turkeys killed locally but no deer. A Sunday snow means residents must replenish wood. Many attended a Saturday service meeting. Town quiet has been disturbed recently and concerns may lead to consequences. Talk of John Wann moving his stave mill to Laflin circulates. Welty and Poinsette moved their mill from A. Clippard, leaving Laflin without a mill for a time. The Laflin correspondent hopes for good humor in future Banner reports.
