Mrs John Snider, about 47, burned to death at her home six miles southwest of Laflin after epileptic fits. Neighbors aided a swift cleanup as husband found her room filled with smoke and clothing near the open fireplace caught fire. Coroner Witmer ruled accidental burning. she was laid to rest on Tuesday after a Sunday tragedy.
The Press pleads readers to settle dues at once. The paper warns several accounts have been dropped and others will follow. Nonpayers will face collection by an officer. The publication emphasizes it means business and cash.

A dispatch from Poplar Bluff says surrounding forests are burning with the situation serious at Neelyville and farmers’ property at risk. Fires also rage in Memphis with the city reportedly in danger.
A Monday night blaze consumed Frank Clippard's house about four miles east of town. The fire began from a stove and little of the contents were saved. Insurance coverage was reported at $500 for the home.
A three A.M. fire in Frederick caused about 2400 dollars in damage to several structures. Losses include a thousand dollars of lumber grain and supplies, a stable burn total of around eight hundred, and machinery losses of six hundred. The origin was a house used by traveling traders. Local court notices cite bonds for several individuals on charges including felonious assault and disturbing peace. Thanksgiving services announced for November 29 1894 at the Presbyterian church.
