The annual commencement at Will Mayfiel College opened with a May concert in Marble Hall followed by exercises in the evening. Judges awarded medals after recitations by Indies and gens. Lola VanAmburg delivered The Traitor's Deathbed while Audrey Jamison impressed as a master orator in a standout performance. William Clay Morgan gave Education for Life, Claude Barr spoke on Dangers of Immigration, Iola Hinkle read Opportunities of American Womanhood as valedictorian, and a vocal quartet performed Balls of Dreamland and Kentucky Babe. Diplomas were presented by Miss Daisy Dickerman and W A Davault with remarks from Hon F M Wells. benediction closed the program. The gathering ended with friendly goodbyes and a final address by Prof. Henderson.

Mrs W L Eaker died Flatwoods May 24 age about 40. Rev D E Barrett officiated at funeral at Metthee chapel, buried in cemetery. She leaves two husbands and all the children to mourn.
