Will Mayfield College held graduation ceremonies with musical selections, essays, and orations by seniors. Rev R L Lamons preached the baccalaureate, Mary Caldwell won the scholarship medal, Homer Jamison received his diploma, and Rev W A Davault gave the benediction. On Thursday evening in May the Will Mayfield College orchestra directed by Laurence A. Smith of Parmington gave its first open concert at the Baptist church. The ensemble is a new enterprise formed just over three months ago with many players newly taking up their instruments.
