Burglars exploded a safe in the Charleston post office Friday morning at 2 10. The interior room was torn up and the safe wrecked but nothing was taken. Damages are estimated at 250 dollars.
Hon W H Miller of Jackson has been appointed local attorney for the Cotton Belt railroad to succeed the resigned Martin L Clatcy. Miller is among the most prominent lawyers in Southeast Missouri.
Rev W F Crow of Farmington, formerly at this place, preached to a good attendance at the ovan church last Sunday. The message drew many Ohio city people.
