Dexter Fire Destroys 14 Buildings Including I M Depot
Dexter Mo March 5 A costly fire swept through the town destroying thirteen business houses and the I M railroad depot. The blaze started in J W McCollum's drug store at 3 40 am and within two hours forty minutes the entire fourteen buildings were in ruins. Two brick stores burned Miller Ladd Co suffered major losses plus many insured properties and personal effects. The fire halted before crossing the street saving Jeffers Hotel and adjacent homes.
