Public Sale of Horses Cattle and Farm Implements 1919

Auction slated for March 20 1919 listing 2 bron mares several young stock including yearlings and calves, Jersey cows and high grade Shorthorns, numerous farm implements, wagons, harnesses, furniture, and hay. Terms require cash for items under ten dollars and six month credit for larger purchases with bankable notes at 6 percent interest. Sale begins at a specified hour with lunch provided on the grounds.

Corr Winer Hanne recalls three months in France with the Army’s grim front lines. He describes shelling at Whiz Bang Mill, gas attacks with masks on from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., and a four day outpost stint near an enemy line. After advancing to Luxembourg and Beauford, he notes the armistice and ceasing fire at 11 a.m. Acknowledging 150 infantry and other units, he writes to fellow readers of The Press.
