Good Roads Bond Election Plans and Cost Clarifications
County court planned a July 2 election on a bond issue for highway improvements but postponed to late August to allow voter study. A table on a $160,000 bond at 4 percent shows annual interest about 29 cents per $100 of property, totaling roughly $75,000 interest to retire the debt. laws require securing bids, bonds selling in yearly $40,000 increments for four years, with work possibly awarded to local contractors and without interest until sale.

Roads Bond Plan Prompts County Leaders to Hire Expert
A private letter from Wayne County Good Roads officials notes slow progress on road work with bonds and plans taking years. They expect costs drop with new machinery, favor home labor, and aim to publicize details via schoolhouse meetings led by AC McKibben to inform Bollinger County residents.
