Farmers Near End Of Haying Amid Drought Effects
The drying weather has badly hurt corn and other crops as farmers near completion of haying and corn plowing. Mrs. William Strong is reported quite sick, while general health remains fair. Revival meetings led by Revs. William Boutwell and Fulbright at Laflin church ended with many conversions and new members. Plowing for wheat will have to continue.

County road repair petition circulates for J Fe Kinder to Thalin chapel
The Overseer Kinder is circulating a petition and taking subscriptions to repair the road from J Fe Kinder’s place to Thalin chapel. Most county candidates attended a Saturday picnic which started well but ended poorly after John Barleycorn appeared, drawing contempt from the community. George Ro Kinder injured his thigh and elbow when a stone rolled underfoot on the way home from lodge, keeping him out of work a day or two. Miss Mary Spivy of Whitewater visits Miss Zettie Kinder.
