Defendants must appear by the second Monday in September or the term ends, or default judgment will be entered. Marble Hill Missourian published as required.

Destruction from Hurricane creek after heavy rains damaged fences wheat and oats. other farmers reports were less severe. A new church service is planned next Sunday and local politics note the democracy primary produced a strong nominating ticket.

In Blodgett on the fourth, James Grissom, after heavy drinking, assaulted his wife at home as she fled to her sister. Robert Grissom, his brother, arrived to intervene and fired twice, mortally wounding James. One bullet shattered a bone and the other entered the chest. the injured man may not recover.
In the mill section the company is composed of A. A. Jorndt J. N. Miller C. C. Bowman and a brother who owns a mill at Sikeston. The company plans to raise capacity next year to 400 barrels per day. The Bowman Brothers, sons of Rev. B. L. Bowman, are credited for their enterprising efforts and stand among the front rank of local business leaders.
In Caruthersville on Monday a fight between Jim Fields a local barber and Stith Ferguson led to Fields being shot and dying at his shop. Ferguson a heavily drinking newcomer from West Tennessee faced earlier trouble with Fields who had boasted threats to kill Ferguson. Fields bore a violent reputation linked to past incidents in Bollinger Stoddard and Mississippi counties. Ferguson fired multiple shots in the Turf saloon before Fields staggered to his barber shop and died next morning.
In the September term 1900 the Hollinger Circuit Court issues two notices by publication. The_STATE seeks to enforce state liens on multiple tracts in Marble Hill area. Defendants J Evans and James J Borders are named nonresidents, must answer by deadline, or plead, or risk a confessed judgment.
Order of Publication in the Circuit Court for the September Term 1900 states William J. Yount as plaintiff seeking enforcement of a tax claim on real property in Hullinger County Missouri. The defendant, listed as Anderson, nonresident, must appear at the Minville Hill court by the second Tuesday after the next term, or plead by the third day, otherwise judgment will be entered. A copy is to be published in the local notice.
