Mr Jordan of St Louis here last week seeking timber interests. Chas Bode of Cape Girardeau stopped three days for water accounting. Mr Alonzo Lacy and Miss Mable Dickey of Cadet guests of the Dickey family. Mr W H Mayfield of St Louis and Dr Mayfield of Grubville spent several days here. David Hall on Castor River lost sixteen cattle and five horses to high water. A O U W to give a supper on the 6th. grand effort promised. Duncan and John and Robert Young killed three sakes last Sunday. Weak spring-like weather noted with insects and early summer hints.
Report describes extensive flood damage along the creek and high water at Stanton's factory and W. W. Samples stock yard. It notes Kansas leads in low wheat costs with farmers drilling wheat after each harvest, using broad headers and loaders to reap sixty acres daily as the season yields record acreages and prices around fifty six carts per bushel.
A dated notice warns all recipients that unless payment is made by February first, Liviu profession identification will be refused from that date onward. Names and signatures appear but actions are clear: settle accounts now or lose service.
