In a letter from Deming New Mexico a reader describes a town of about 2,500 in the Mineres valley. He notes abundant water at 40 to 69 feet, irrigation from wells, land prices from 10 to 200 dollars per acre, house rents 12 to 40 dollars monthly, lumber 30 to 70 dollars per thousand feet, and many new homes rising. The area supports crops like alfalfa and keeps several institutions including churches, a high school, hospital, fire department and daily trains.
