Maple Creek United marks centennial with service and lunch
The Maple Creek United Church celebrated 100 years with a Pentecost tied service attended by about 80, featuring Northern Lights imagery, a community lunch, and a cake cut by Rev. Sheila Deforest.Visitors included Rev. Jesse Miller, Chelsea Miller, Father Dick Kennedy, and Ross Pollock with Claire Pollock, among others. The event recalled the church’s 1925 union of Methodists and Presbyterians, with past memorial windows and honor rolls dedicated in 1949 and a long heritage of serving surrounding congregations.
