Late withdrawal leaves Gutfreund sole candidate in Maple Creek by election
McNab pulled out of the June 18 Maple Creek Town Council by election leaving Holly Gutfreund as the only contestant. The Saskatchewan Government orders the poll to proceed with both on the ballot though acclamation was not allowed. The withdrawal timing raises questions about provincial rules and costs taxpayers about 5000 dollars as the town seeks an Election Act review. The public will be informed of McNab’s withdrawal at the polling station.
