A Monday night blaze on Hartville’s east public square destroyed six buildings and their contents after starting near Crawford restaurant or an adjoining vacant property. Archer's Cafe owned by EB B. Archer was destroyed, with losses around 1 500 and 900 in insurance. The Crawford restaurant, owned by G. B. Hensley and run by Uncle Tom Crawford, also burned. A vacant barber shop, Howe Steele’s barber shop owned by Findley Bros, meat market fixtures, and a drug store run by D. C. Carter were all consumed with various losses and little or no insurance.
In Odin and nearby, residents report visits and gatherings including Esther Newton Homer Hedrick and Miss Mabel Holliman joining at Odin Saturday. Preaching at the M E Church every fourth Saturday night and Sunday with Rev D D Killam, Sunday school led by F A Dodson. Weather is pleasant as fruit is being dried and canned.

Miss Susie Wilson and Minerva Wilson visited between Flat Rock and Atlas Hunsakers. Family visits included Grandma Slate and children at Crane Cemetery and nearby homes.
