Instructions for voting the ballot in 1900 style

Voters are instructed to go to a booth and vote a straight party ticket by crossing the circle under the party name or split tickets by marking the circle for one party and crosses beside chosen candidates on other tickets. If voting for a candidate not on the printed ballot, cancel the printed name and insert the chosen name, then mark the square beside it. Two crosses in a row count against that office. If a cross is in the circles, only those named count. otherwise only named candidates count. Do not deface, erase, or fold revealing marks. If mismarked get a replacement ballot from the clerk. A blank ballot is not counted and ballots are folded to conceal marks before handing to the judge and deposited promptly. Leave the booth quietly after submission.
