Influenza Strikes Council Bluffs Orphanage Hard
The Christian Home Orphanage in Council Bluffs Iowa suffered a four week Spanish influenza outbreak. Nearly 200 inmates and many workers were stricken with only two deaths. The disaster created about ten thousand dollars in debt due to higher supplies and added costs. A Thanksgiving offering is urged to help lift the debt, with contributions sent to the orphanage.
