N J Whelchel of Hartville here yesterday and township and school elections set for March 29 and April 5. Local civic, business, and social items include visits, sales ads, a March 26 sheriff election, band practice starting, and community events plus a basketball tourney result and a fatal accident near Springfield involving Julian Elrod.
Mrs Edith Hake successor to her late husband as Wright County Sheriff candidate announces plan to serve until next general election. She aims to appoint a capable deputy, consult legal advisors, and relies on community support while caring for her children.

Mrs Stella J Fuson 55 died Sunday morning at 1200 Fremont street after a lingering illness. Survived by husband Dr F B Fuson and relatives in Kansas City. Funeral from family residence at 2 o clock this afternoon, Dr J T Bacon pastor of First Presbyterian church officiating. Interment Maple Park cemetery under Paxson Undertaking Co Springfield Republican. Mrs Fuson was a long time resident, moved to Springfield in 1905. She was aunt of Dr J A Fuson of Mansfield.
Miss Lorene Turner hosted a sophomore rock party with fudge and gossip. The senior class works on The Gypsy Trail, a new royalty play once staged in New York. High school cooking girls served 70 to 75 lunches per session, earning about $20 for new equipment. An assembly heard the basketball tournament trip report as the team held third place in Class 6 of the 8. W. A.
