Mansfield prepares to host a new Lyceum season arranged by S W Brown of the Community Lyceum Bureau. The first concert may be in September with expensive, high quality selections guaranteed by the Bureau. Local citizens are urged to buy season tickets as no guarantees are required.
A report from Wolf Creek notes a well attended church service on Saturday night and Sunday. The piece lists numerous local residents visiting family and friends, with social visits among the Gann Caday Moody and McIntosh families and a hopeful remark about luck for Ashley on the next Saturday night.
State Superintendent Sam A Baker writes from Jefferson City on February 10 1922 to A Roy Mansfield High School Mansfield Mo. confirming the school remains on the first class list if it operates nine months and continues to the year end. He notes reclassification would harm student credits and offers reinstatement if a new modern building is constructed and properly equipped per the High School Course of Study. He expresses regret over the fire destroying the existing building.
A barn on the Jerry Morris farm at Cedar Gap burned last night after a son of Fred Goss entered to retrieve a Ford and struck a match to check the gas. Young Goss suffered a slight burn when the gas ignited. the barn, car, mule, two horses, hay and corn were destroyed. No insurance was carried.
