A proposed Missouri road plan under House Bill, supervised by a state highway commission. The bill designates routes by county and requires only hard surface roads, funded by state appropriations and any necessary cross-county funds. Dewey J. Mankin and Kate L. Malloy of Ava were married at the Methodist parsonage in Mansfield on Saturday July 10 by Rev. J. W. Paterson. The couple came to town for the ceremony and began their married life promisingly.
The 2nd annual reunion and picnic of the Sons of the Sunflower State and Daughters of the Jayhawkers will be held Wednesday August 3 three miles south of Mansfield on the Frank Williams place Mansfield Ava road. All Kansans by birth adoption or otherwise are invited to attend. Bring dinner and enjoy a big family gathering in the shady grove with refreshments and short talks by locals and Kansans.
