Tomato crop prospects boost for Mansfield Bryant area
Reverend J W Roberts of Roberts and Elder Kanning Co says tomato prospects look bright for a large crop. About 150 acres are contracted near Mansfield and 100 near Bryant, with a planned local factory to handle the crop. R and BE brand tomatoes are in strong demand and the firm will pay 50 cents per hundred pounds, up from 40. The proposition offers locals a solid money making chance if they plant sizable acreage this season.
