Mrs. Davis travels to Texas to be with her daughter Mrs. Claude Edwards, described as Stek the printer who died suddenly. The piece laments the press day shortages blamed on recent events and these factors, noting the paper’s production was affected while the staff faced a difficult time.
Rainy weather and fog mark the week as the groundhog sees his shadow. Mrs. William Baker remains ill while Mr. and Mrs Virgil Royal celebrate a baby girl. At the residence of Squire and Mrs W Fuge in Manafield on Sunday February 13 Miss Verba Mae Fuge married W P Jones of the city. Rev J W Paterson officiated as guests witnessed the vows. A wedding dinner followed and gifts poured in. The couple, once Central phone staff, now local property owners, are praised as rising community figures aiding Mansfield’s growth in the Ozarka.
Public auction at the Coxman farm two miles south of Omo and 12 miles south of Norwood on Fox Creek. Sale on Thursday February 24 starting at 10 a.m. includes horses cattle hogs farm machinery and household goods with cash terms for small sums and bankable notes for larger amounts at 8 percent. Friends and relatives gathered at Elijah Jones’s country home north of Mansfield on February 6 to celebrate. About sixty attendees shared a bountiful dinner, with extra dishes placed outside as the yard table overflowed.
