Kansas man kills wife and stepson in Wichita
B W A Henson, 60, formerly of Enclewood Kansas, shot and killed his wife while she was combing her hair. He used a shotgun as a club to kill his 13 year old stepson Walter Shafer who went to aid his mother. Neighbors saw the youth killed. Henson fled the scene, boarded a streetcar, and was later detained in the suburbs. He claimed self defense saying his wife and stepson threatened to kill him.
