Local notices report Conklin's Traine moved to West Plains. Several residents including John State of Verning and HB Dichman were in or visiting St Louis and Mansfield during the week. Thanksgiving events, church meetings, sales pitches, and social notices fill Mansfield society column with obituaries, baptisms, and community ads.
Officials publish the Pleasant Valley two tax list and urge taxpayers to call or visit to pay before January 1st to avoid penalties.
A screening of The Our Horsemen of the Apocalypse will be shown at the Nugget Theatre in December for two nights. Dr. Riley notes the exact date will be announced soon and promises Mansfield and vicinity a rare cinema treat.

Sam A Baker, elected State Superintendent of Schools and president of the Missouri State Teachers Association, rose from a Patterson birthplace and one room school to lead Missouri education. He clerked, labored in a lumber camp and on railroads, trained in Southeast Missouri Teachers College, and taught in multiple districts before 1918 when he became state superintendent.
The department increased personnel from 10 to 27, adding vocational and industrial rehabilitation divisions. The vocational division aims to assist learners pursuing practical trades alongside elementary education, while the rehabilitation division helps injured or physically incapacitated individuals to earn a living in useful work.

Jesse Killian was born in Mansfield Missouri on March 22 1902 and died at N B Piernou's home in Mansfield on November 27 1921. He was an active Methodist, had graduated from Argola High School and planned to teach. He leaves a grandmother Mrs Sullivan two sisters Mrs Opal Phillips of Mountain Grove and Miss Zola Killian of Argola plus distant relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Mansfield Cemetery.
