The local W C T U held an afternoon meeting with Mrs J D Reynolds presenting a fine program. Mrs J A Hylton was elected president with Mrs W B Hitchcock as secretary and Mrs G S Burney as treasurer. Delegates to Mountain Grove were C Le Leach G S Burney J D Reynolds with Mrs W A Brink as delegate and Mrs G S Burney as alternate to the Sikeston convention.
School begins Monday and attendance is urged for every child. Parents are invited as the janitor works to clean up. Books should not be bought until the grade is confirmed. The afternoon will hold book and supply collection due to a half day. Young pupils under six must be excluded unless nearly school age. A Mansfield resident entered the school building this week for the first time in years. others neglectful are urged to come before opening.

Calls for better roads.
Macomb the Macomb school is progressing nicely. Harrison Babb left Monday for Joplin to work. Canning peaches is the order of the day. Miss Bertha Williams stays with W H Brake. Emma Findley visited sister Mrs Chas Nevels. Martha Findley supped with Nellie Dake. Nellie Dake and cousin Jewel Carnahan attended church at Ashley. John Short and family visited her parents Abe Gable and wife. Orin Findley and baby Doris spent Sunday with sister Mrs Sam Hart. Mrs J D Reynolds of Mansfield visited daughter Mrs W H Brake. Bradi Findley spent weekend with daughter Mrs Chas Nevels. Henry Boyd and Daisy spent Sunday at D C Norcross. Chris Tyson and wife Carl visited parents Nathaniel Tyson near Olathe.
