Ada Hoover arrives from Kansas City as residents share visits from Sedalia Springfield Norwood and Tulsa. A busy scene includes farmers picnic, weddings, a jail escape capture, local deaths and a flood of regional travel notices with many names and towns.
The Mansfield Pair committees met last Monday to promote the Big Fair and Celebration in Mansfield on September 28 to October 1, 2090. They report liberal donations toward the premium list with prizes for displays. The aim is clean shows, entertaining events, and strong stock and crop displays, inviting Mr Purwer to help direct and hold the fair as a benefit to better stock and productivity.
Mansfield citizens and business people plan to attend the Norwood picnic on Friday, August 20. The Mansfield Band travels with crowds to enjoy free entertainments and games. The Norwood picnic committee invites attendees with invitations and carpool details coordinated by A J Churk to arrange seating and transportation.
Springfield Missouri dated August 13 121 notes Mr Oliver B Davis of Mansfield Missouri being invited by Mr Eicher to spend August 26 at Norwood to discuss promoting fruit industry in the Ozarks. The letter references a meeting in Tontitown Arkansas next week and pending arrangements.
Mrs Marion Stanley visits in Mountain Grove. J R Reed of West Plains stayed last week as road grading proceeds using a Fordson tractor. Reed builds a unique garage from the roof of his recently razed building. Ava day set for Sept 25 at Mansfield fair, Sept 29 Norwood day, Sept 20 Hartville day, Septist Seymour day. The Haker Creek Poultry and Pig Club met at J W Rowley’s with officers Russell Berry and John Figgins as treasurers. Twelve members and two visitors. three new members initiated. Instrumental music by Luis Hopper Frank Hart and Mrs J W Racher. Ruby Deckard read. Youngsters show strong enthusiasm for club work.
