Walter W Robertson a young man from Ma comb was jailed in Hartville on burglary charges. He escaped early Friday but was tracked to near Mansfield by posses from Mansfield and Hartville and captured before noon. He was returned to jail in a Jake Hoover auto, guarded by Deputies Pryor and Claxton and Hartville’s Wint Pryor. Robertson planned a grab at a freight train near the Frisco line and faced new charges of jail breaking alongside burglary and larceny.
Funeral services for J C Robertson were held at Prairie Hollow led by Rev B B Hylton after he was found dead in his Madison Hotel room in Springfield last week. The death is believed accidental from gas, with a $6000 judgment against a doing company mentioned by relatives. Robertson, once in the lumber trade at Monett, was about 60 and well regarded in Macomb.
