Manitowoc Park Board Plans New Winter Rinks

The Manitowoc park commission announced plans to abandon Fair Grounds for a new site at Seventeenth and Michigan aging. Four electrically lit rinks and a hockey rink will be built, with West Field enlarged and a regulation hockey rink added. Other rinks will be at Fourth and St. Clair and West Field. Flooding awaits cold weather. Street and fire departments will handle construction and maintenance.

Christmas Basket Fund Drive Begun by Ottawa Veterans

Veterans of Foreign Wars in Ottawa started a Christmas basket drive cooperating with relief agencies. Donation boxes are in downtown stores and checks can be mailed to Commander Frank at 636 South Twenty-sixth Street. Utility Department Plans City Lighting With Colored Candles

Funeral Service for Emil Cherf Held at Antigo

Emil Cherf died at Milwaukee Soldiers Home Saturday morning after stomach ulcers and heart trouble. A high mass was said by Rev John Cherf with Frs Emil Shimek W Kubale Joseph Vondracek and Willian Koutnik assisting. Born February 5 1892 in Neva he served in WWI and later was a mail carrier in Antigo Sixth Ward. He married Mary Vondracek of Reedsville November 10 1925 and left for the Soldiers Home November 11. Two children Frank and Eugene were born to them.
