The country home of Mr and Mrs Robert Kastner was the scene of a quiet marriage ceremony performed by Rev D J Powell of Manito Community Methodist Church at noon on Friday October 26. Miss Gladys Cook of Spring Lake and Kenneth Kastner son of Mr and Mrs Sam Kastner of Manito were united. Only the couple extra attended. The bride wore a gray suit with green accessories and white carnation corsage. They left for a wedding trip to Chicago and will live in Sky Ranch apartment.

Halloween Fall Festival Delights Manito Community
Manito celebrates Fall Festival with a 2:15 Halloween march from the grade school to LeMar corner. Children received cider doughnuts and noise makers from the American Legion Auxiliary while shoppers report strong afternoon business. A successful Opera House dance with Robinson Brothers capped the day and locals hope for a repeat event soon.

Van Ralta Huffman Dies in California
News reached Manito of the death of Van Ralta Lee Huffman in Burbank California. He was born August 7 1877 in Spring Lake township and lived in Manito Omaha and Burbank. Surviving are a son Marvin Huffman daughter Helen Gray two brothers Charles and J T Huffman and five grandchildren. Funeral in Manito Johnson Funeral Home Monday at 2 pm with Rev Joseph Hobbs officiating. Burial Meadow Lawn Cemetery.
