Sleepy Hollow Bridge Opens on Route 29 Detour Bridge Ready
The Sleepy Hollow detour bridge on Route 29 south of Mason City was torn out last week and traffic now uses the new structure. Construction by Cullinan Road Builders created a straighter grade avoiding the old dip at Sanert hill. In May 1953 the old bridge washed out, taking the life of Horace Skaggs. Pearl Marcum warned nearby families, enabling barricades before help arrived.
