At the Monday meeting the village board voted to enforce a ten minute parking limit from the People's State Bank corner east to the alley. The limit starts January 15 daily 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Sundays with no double parking to ease traffic around the post office.
Mr and Mrs George Clementz and Greg returned to their Wilmington home on Monday following a holiday visit with the Glen Talbotts.

Pvt Henry L Sunderland of Forest City Illinois, son of Mr and Mrs Walter L Sunderland, was awarded the ROK Presidential Unit Citation as part of the Korean Communication Zone. The unit aided UN forces and now supports economic aid and relief programs in Korea. He joined the Army in August 1952 and arrived overseas last April.
Judge C. C. MecBrian of Springfield Illinois will be the speaker for Forest City January Family Night at the Federated church. A pot luck supper starts at 6 30 with the program at 7 30. He is a former president of the Douglas Toastmasters club and a University of Illinois graduate. He will discuss court cases.
Comrades of the Way class of the Community Methodist church host a Sunday evening family party and class meeting on January 10. A pot luck supper starts at 6 p.m. in the church basement, followed by a business meeting and annual officer elections. All members are urged to attend with families.

James Seelye, local John Deere dealer, hosts John Deere Day at Forman Gym on Wednesday January 13 at 7 30 p m. The program features five color films including Mr Christmas and The Safety Pin plus educational and farming safety content for farmers and their families. Admission is free but tickets are required and available at Seelye Hardware.
The new Stuart's Antique Shop occupies an upper floor by the Thomas home offering a 20 by 20 room of vintage items. Visitors are invited to explore a tea set, a velvet frame with a faded portrait, enamelled mantles, oil-aged furniture, a flag with 28 stars and other heirlooms that evoke early American life and European ancestry.
Mason County farmers are invited to a series on supplementary irrigation starting January 18 at 7 30 p m in the Forman agriculture building. Cypress Supply Company St Louis will lead the program with topics on cost equipment and value of irrigation. A Homemaking session runs concurrently inviting wives. Registration is 2 50 for the series.
Supt Leonard O Hewitt of Forman schools spoke at the Manilo Rotary meeting Tuesday night. Guest speaker was Roy White of Forest City. Hewitt discussed Forman schools conditions and potential rent for unfavorable sites, noting obstacles to changes and including notes from county superintendent visits to Jacksonville schools.
