Mason County Republican Central Committee met in Havana on Monday night January 2 with petitions in circulation. Candidates for County Judge County Clerk County Treasurer Sheriff County Superintendent of Schools and Circuit Clerk were named and first filing date set for January 16. Blessman named to fill Senate vacancy and two State Representative candidates certified for the thirtieth district.

Manito Hardware Plans Annual Family Party

Trains service cut by ICC affects Pekin to Springfield

The Illinois Commerce Commission grants C and IM Railroad authority to discontinue the Southbound morning passenger and Northbound afternoon train service between Pekin and Springfield. All Sunday service is dropped. The railroad may resume after ten days notice and poster notices at route stations.
