Farmers oppose Saturday half holiday at Manilla meeting
At a Farmers and Settlers Association gathering in Manilla the movement for a Saturday half holiday was opposed by several speakers. They argued it would disrupt business, push country shoppers to mail order, and shift country workers to Friday. The motion to protest was carried unanimously. The Manilla Post Office had closed on Wednesday instead of Saturday for country convenience.
