Fishing Prohibited Across NSW Rivers and Lakes

The Superintendent of Fisheries Mr N V Harris announced a blanket fishing ban in all rivers and lakes west of the Great Dividing Range for September October and November. Trout may be taken by rod and line from 2 October with a licence. Offenders face penalties under the Fisheries and Oyster Farms Act. An appeal was made to commercial fishermen and anglers to observe the closed season to protect spawning stocks. An Australian trade mission to South East Asia seeks markets in flour brandy wine and foodstuffs.

Late Running Of Trains In New South Wales

The Commissioner for Railways Mr Winsor will be asked to investigate continual late running of trains in New South Wales notably the Glen Innes Mail to Tamworth and the Tamworth to Manilla service. The association asks whether electric lighting is needed at Manilla goods shed and railway goods shed. The meeting decided to raise the issue again with the Manilla Station Master.
