Children’s swimming pool request to Manilla council

At the Mechanics Institute meeting on Tuesday 28 October the Spastic Centre Council notes £100 in donations and plans to forward another £100 leaving a credit balance. Water rationing eyed as summer risk and pump upgrade
The Water Engineer advised Council that rationing may be necessary this summer. A Tamworth Engineering representative inspected pumping machinery and will submit quotes for a 5 inch pump to replace the present 4 inch unit at the low lift station. A larger pump would require filtration plant changes, and even with a quotation accepted it may take three months or more to complete. An application by Mr Perrin for Tamworth road water supply was refused in light of the resolution.
