Presbyterian Fete Brightens Manilla Grounds and Stalls
A large crowd enjoyed a Presbyterian fete on sunny grounds with well kept lawns and gay stalls. The Manilla Pipe Band opened the event, Rev. John Mitchell praised workers and welcomed guests, and Mrs. Mitchell outlined Guild activities. Mayor Grill opened the fete, praising the gardens and gardeners. Competitions and afternoon tea were well run by the Womens Guild, with numerous helpers and stations. Financial results were very gratifying.

Manilla Court Fines For Indecent Language
In the Manilla Court of Petty Sessions Lyndall R Sneesby was fined a total of £8 10s for two charges of using indecent language. Police testified that on October 16 and November 21 they heard the defendant in Market Street, loud enough to be heard on the street. Defendant had two prior similar convictions. fines were £3 10s on the first charge and £5 on the second.

Publican Fined In Manilla County After Hours
Kenneth Y Small was fined 10 pounds plus costs for keeping the Royal Hotel open after hours. Three Manilla men received one pound each for being on licensed premises after hours. Police officer Set. Maskill reported seeing patrons at about 10 20 pm October 16. Small defended that he opened to serve travellers and local men arrived when lights were on. D H Kennedy and Sons represented Small.

St Andrews Presbyterian Sunday School Anniversary
The Anniversary at St Andrews Presbyterian Church includes children rendering anthems, conducting the service, and a floralgraph display by Rev. John Mitchell. Hospital Board rejects further wage increase request
At Friday's meeting the Manila Hospital Board and the Hospitals Commission advised they could not grant any further increase in wage subsidies granted to the Democratic staff at all NSW hospitals. The Hospital Secretary Guilty stated that wool would become a by product of sheep in future years.
