Manilla Council Reflects On Term And Finances
The last meeting of the pres ent Manilla Municipal Council reviewed a year ending 1944 with 12 ordinary and five special meetings. Attendance ranged from 15 to 17 with an average of 98.5 percent. Finance noted overdue rates reduced after seven years, with more than £1000 expected to be collected in 1944. Assets stood at £36,820 against £14,364 in liabilities including water, streets, fire station, and footpaths.
