Girls Friendly Society Anniversary at Manilla Hall
The Monili branch of the Church of England Girls Friendly Society celebrated its seventh anniversary at the hall on Thursday October 30. The event included a welcome to the vicar and wife, a blue and white birthday cake cut by Mrs Duncombe, speeches on postwar activities, and praise for the associates and secretaries. A party attended by over a hundred friends featured dancing, flowers, and a varied programme, followed by supper served by members. The celebration was deemed a success with thanks to all who attended.
