Manilla's drive to raise £18000 for the war loan targets 180 homes paying £100 each or 360 homes at £50 or 720 homes at £25. With about 725 homes in the area, every adult may need to contribute at least £10. The War Loan Committee, backed by the Municipal Council and Manilla Business Mens Association, plans to mobilize the town as the Prime Minister urges funds to sustain the war effort.
