Farewell party for Miss Dulcie Parsons at York Café

Friends gathered Saturday evening to bid Dulcie Parsons farewell as she departs Manilla for Berry. About fifty people danced and enjoyed supper at the York Café, with Jack Blanch praising her popularity and presenting book ends as a memento. Parsons expressed thanks for the kindness. A returned soldier, Frank Andrews, seeks work pruning trees and is recommended by district residents. inquiries at this office.

Manilla Council Considers Leasing Mechanics Institute Hall

Ald Kennedy reports at council that trustees of Manilla Mechanics Institute are empowered to lease the northern part of allotment 8 section 21 Manilla Street to the Municipal Council for 99 years at a nominal rent. The move aims to renovate and better utilize the hall with eventual tax support for improvements. A general meeting set for June 10 will confirm the motion passed May 10.
