Fat cattle sold well with fats going to Sydney butchers. stores weak due to bad season and some unsold. Prime fat bullocks reached up to £16 15s, store cattle mainly to South, 22 track loads rail to Abattoirs.

Manilla Cattle Sale Reports Strong Demand Amid High Prices

Nearly 500 cattle were yarded at the Manilla sale on 18 May 1944 with about 150 fats drawing strong competition and prices ranging from 10 shillings to £1 above the previous sale. Store cattle declined slightly but met the market. fats were taken by Metropolitan and Aberdeen Meat Companies. Notable consignors included Nott, Russell, Porter, Gardner, Blanch, Mitchell, Fletcher, Hagan Shaw, Hall, Brady, Fitzgerald, Powell, Dove, Park, O'Toole, Hayne, Robinson, Price, Bowman, Maclean, McDonald, Coulton, Wilson, Johnston, Mays, Cummins, Abberfield, Northey, Crowley, Tydd, Heywood, Coote, Hawker and Byrnes.
