At the Manilla Hospital Board monthly meeting the Hospitals Commission approved boiler repairs costing 844 pounds 12 shillings 0 pence. The board was asked to contribute 175 pounds, a sum already spent on repairs, with emergency work to be done by the Public Works Department. The plan enlarges the existing 1-H boiler with four new sections and adds a 40 foot steel stack. A Tamworth hospital boiler offer was rejected as unsuitable and more expensive. Repairs are deemed temporary until further funds allow a new boiler and boiler house. The board will thank Mr WA Chaffey MLA for past help.
