Rifle Club's Annual Meeting and Prize Presentations
The Rifle Club held its annual meeting with a two minutes silence for late Patron Mr. A. R. Macleod. Secretary J. A. Bignall reported 12 months of handicap shoots on 35 Saturdays and six all day events on Sundays, with members attending Warialda Inverell Gunnedah and Tamworth. Treasurer H. Dengate noted strong finances. New officers were elected led by President F. Coorey and Captain A. A. Yates with J. A. Bignall as Secretary. Trophies were presented by Vice-president A. G. Cameron. Dengate topped most events with several awards going to Hall and Bignall among others.

Mendowa Shire Council Minutes Set Road and Licence Actions
The Mendowa Shire Council held its monthly meeting in the Council Chambers with President Dr. G. R. Park presiding. The Manilla Branch of the Farmers and Members Association forwarded a letter urging action on the Manilla Baz ra ha road, while the council discussed grader work on Rushes Creek Road and thanked the association for assistance. Gocking Bros slaughtering license renewal was granted. Two funding requests for NSW Home for Incurables and the Benevolent Society were approved. Dr. Gallagher flagged two crossings on Wiseman's Arms Road needing attention, to be completed within a week. An inquiry into closing and purchasing a parish road near Staffords entrance led to a recommendation to close with advertisement for objections. the road length is 95 chains, previously dedicated in 1932 and not likely needed for main Somerton road connection.
