Manilla Defeats Walcha In Hard Rugby League Match

Manilla outplayed Walcha 21-7 in the first grade at the local oval after two late tries. Walcha drew 5-5 with Manilla in reserves, while Manilla Juniors beat Walcha Juniors 18-2. R. Bishop and J. Browning starred for Manilla with tries and goals, and A. Trehearne contributed a key kick.

Reed Wedding at St John’s Tamworth

Archdeacon Young officiated at the Tamworth church ceremony uniting Clare Marie Reed and Jack David Hall. The bride wore white lace over satin with a two tier veil, bouquet of gladioli and tuber roses, bridesmaids wore lemon frocks, and the reception followed at St Paul’s Hall West Tamworth with 130 guests. The couple honeymooned along the North Coast.

Sydney Player Win Open Singles

Entries were solid with numbers similar to prior years though ladies events lacked the previous year's depth.
