Plans For Showground Grandstand Ready
At a Friday night meeting of Municipal and Shire Councils Agricultur al Society and local clubs plans for a new grandstand at the Showground were adopted with minor alterations. The prefabricated steel building 80 by 40 will have 10 seating tiers for about 450 people and include dressing rooms service area two store rooms and a committee room plus caretaker quarters if possible. The existing hot water system from the current facilities will be moved. The Snowy River Adaminaby dam will store eight times Sydney Harbour water. The old grandstand will be demolished and a new structure built on the same site funded by both councils with a grant application to the Local Government Department.
