Death of Arthur E. Davis Missed in Adamstown and Manilla life
Arthur E. Davis of Victoria street Adamstown died last Friday. A former Manilla resident before the war, he led a building contracting firm in Newcastle and helped erect many public buildings including Mackenzie Chambers R G Church Namoi Cafe Gilroy s garage and the Methodist School Hall. He served as Alderman of Manilla from 1938 to 1940 and remained active in the bowling club and local social life. His wife predeceased him and surviving relatives include Charles and Arthur Davis Mrs R Hartley and Mrs H Lloyd.
