Golf club trophy rounds feature tight early leads
In a busy Sunday at the Rooke trophy event a 36 hole stroke format produced narrow margins with Col Chapman and R Cadden trading blows in the morning as Chapman held a 1 up edge at lunch and Bob Cadden squared. Afternoon play left the teams even as Chapman and Vince Byrne retained the winning posture against Cadden and Gannon. The club plans an Alfred Emp tournament date around September 11 with strong support and a general meeting set for June 7 at the Mechanics Institute.
